Activities

With our initiatives and social events in Worthing and Sussex we are working to improve social cohesion through our food growing and cookery projects. Over the past years we have reached hundreds of people by inviting them to join us for a meal.

The Last Fisherman Standing: For the next two years, from autumn 2016 to summer 2018, we will be managing a Heritage Lottery funded project "The last fisherman standing" to reclaim our town's rich fisheries heritage and increase our support for Worthing's fishing community.
May Close Community Allotment: Together with fellow community enterprise Breathing Spaces CIC we run regular gardening and food growing sessions at the May Close. The delicious produce grown there is used in our cookery sessions at the Lovett Hub and elsewhere.
Intergenerational cookery with the Royal Voluntary Service Lancing and Seaside Primary School in partnership with Age Craft.
Fish cookery and fish preparation sessions for members of Catchbox Worthing, working with local fishermen and the Fish Factory.
A year of cooking fun with Guildcare’s Ashdown Group, a community of young adults with learning disabilities.
Pizza making in a cob oven together with fellow social enterprise Breathing Spaces and Transition Town Worthing.
A communal summer picnic with the local neighbourhood at Victoria Park and Christmas dinner for twenty-five.
Fortnightly cookery events with residents of Worthing Homes sheltered housing at Lovett Hub in Durrington.
