Worthing’s first ever seaweed spa on the seafront next to the pier from the 28th to the 30th of June. Highlights of the weekend include massages and treatments with seaweed based oils and infusions in a seafront marquee, along with talks and workshops about the local marine environment, regular coastal walks, and a seaweed vendor stall providing some of the best products from the British Isles. Listen to ocean themed tunes from our resident DJs while enjoying a seaweed cocktail in deck chairs on the beach. The event will kick off with a beach fire on Friday evening. The Worthing Honey Collective is the first community supported beehive scheme with the aim of turning Worthing into a pollinator friendly town. We sell hive products to support our social enterprise, with us having already placed three hives across two South Downs Leisure sites in Worthing. We work with locals in our “Brood Chamber”, an informal monthly group meeting to learn more about bees, beekeeping and other pollinators to join the Collective and look after our hives. We're running regular social cooking events with residents of Worthing Homes sheltered housing at Lovett Hub in Durrington and with Guildcare’s Ashdown Group, a community of young adults with learning disabilities. We're also growing some of the food we're cooking at our May Close community allotment which we run in collaboration with Breathing Spaces. It's a place to enjoy stress-free gardening and meeting people. Everyone is welcome and gardening suits all levels of ability including seated work.
We are a Worthing-based social food enterprise working with local, regional and national partners to build community through shared food experiences.
We want to have a positive impact in our own community through eating well, together. From field, boat and kitchen we provide courses and activities for all ages and in a variety of different settings. Find out more.
